1. Rinse the Rice

Start by rinsing the SAMEER Rice under cold water. This step removes excess starch and helps prevent the rice from becoming sticky. Rinse until the water runs clear, which usually takes 2-3 washes.

2. Soak the Rice (Optional)

For even better texture, soak the rinsed rice in water for about 30 minutes. This allows the grains to absorb some water and helps them cook evenly.

3. Measure the Water

After soaking (or rinsing), drain the rice and transfer it to a pot. Add 1.5 to 2 cups of water, depending on how soft you prefer your rice. A good rule of thumb is 1.5 cups for firmer rice and 2 cups for softer rice.

4. Add Salt

If you like, add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor. Stir gently to combine.

5. Bring to a Boil

Place the pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Keep an eye on it to prevent overflow.

6. Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes without lifting the lid. This allows the steam to cook the rice evenly.

7. Check for Doneness

After 15-20 minutes, check if the rice is tender and all the water has been absorbed. If needed, let it cook for a few more minutes. Remember, avoid removing the lid too often, as this releases steam.

8. Fluff the Rice

Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Then, use a fork to fluff the rice gently—this helps separate the grains.

9. Serve and Enjoy!

Your SAMEER Rice is now ready to serve! Pair it with your favorite curry, stir-fry, or enjoy it as a standalone dish. The delightful aroma and texture will surely impress your family and friends.

Tips for Perfect Rice

  • Experiment with Broth: For added flavor, consider cooking the rice in vegetable or chicken broth instead of water.
  • Add Aromatics: Sauté onions, garlic, or spices in the pot before adding the rice and water for extra flavor.
  • Store Leftovers: If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water to restore moisture.

Cooking SAMEER Rice is simple and rewarding. With these steps, you can create a delicious base for any meal. Enjoy your culinary journey!
